A gorgeous revival of Edwardian chairs for our client. Imported by TR from the UK these are delicately shaped chairs, with a lovely rich history. After a colour and style consultation and understanding that these were to be a feature in a coastal style home, we decided to take a contemporary approach with our client. We went with a "coastal glam" look by hand painting the frame in Paris Grey then finishing with Annie Sloan dark and bright silver gilding wax, using it like a glaze to go over the frame. The centre back panel has stencilled with a raised stencil, adding detail to an otherwise flat surface. The centre back panel along with the back leg and cross at the base have all been silver leafed, using Annie Sloan sizing, creating a contrast and bright reflective silver . The frame was then balanced off with new upholstery on the seat using our clients fabric of hessian with foiled leaves . This revival has provided our client an opportunity to be involved with concept and see it brought to life, another story added to the rich history of the chairs and she is now the owner of beautiful bespoke chairs that have been revived to perfectly suit into her space.
